Azealia Banks’s close friend Hudson Mohawke has just hit it big – serving as the newest producer signed to Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label. Widely known for production on Azealia’s indie hit “Jumanji”, Mohawke was personally selected to co-produce West’s hit “Mercy” months after Banks’s single made waves. The power of #indiepersuasion has proven to be successful for the Scottish-born DJ, who has released eight EPs and one album (‘Butter’) to date. Hudson also contributed to three other songs on Kanye’s ‘Cruel Summer’ project including “To The World”, “The One”, and the beautiful John Legend/Teyana Taylor duet “Bliss”. Mohawke is known for his bass-heavy productions, so future collaborations with Kanye are highly likely. Fans of Hudson’s indie work don’t need to worry about the DJ abandoning his roots, as he will continue to produce for up-and-coming artists through his own Warp Records imprint (source).
