Australian-bred singer-songwriter Sia Furler burst onto the American scene with her feature on David Guetta’s “Titanium” in mid-2012. For those that know music well enough know that Sia has been making waves years prior to her EDM debut, mainly on the highly successful international single “Breathe Me”. For those that don’t know music too well might also recognize Sia for writing Rihanna’s “Diamonds” and Beyonce’s “Standing On The Sun”. In either case, Furler’s return to her own music making has finally begun as she has officially enlisted Diplo to assist with her upcoming fifth album. Since “retiring” after releasing her fourth album ‘We Are Born’ in 2010, Sia’s been collaborating with other artists and subsequently selling songs that she should’ve saved for herself. Besides pop collaborations, the only new song we’ve gotten from Sia is the brilliantly written “Kill and Run” from ‘The Great Gatsby’ soundtrack. In terms of Diplo, the two (somewhat) collaborated on the remix to “Clap Your Hands”, but never on any original material. With the two artists on complete opposite ends of the spectrum, it’s sure that they’ll be cooking up masterpieces very soon. Listen to Sia and Diplo’s previous collaboration below.
