It’s been about a year since AMC announced that its hit series ‘The Walking Dead’ would receive a spin-off series. Everything from a prequel to the cast on another continent was predicted for the derivative show, with very little being confirmed until now. Executive producers Robert Kirkman and Gale Anne Hurd have stated that they’d like to explore the events leading up to the zombie outbreak, but that would stray too far away from the comics. ‘The Walking Dead’ creators are known for keeping things under tight wraps, which is why the recent announcement regarding the pilot without a true plot line revealed is shocking. My guess? Maybe an international version that shows what’s going on in England or France while still paralleling to the “real world” in Atlanta. Or maybe it’s a Sonequa Martin-Green themed-show that has written in her #toocute pregnancy. Either way, we’ll have to wait until the end of 2015 for the spin-off series to begin. Look for the regular ‘Dead’ series to resume on February 8, 2015.
