This year’s Costume Institute Gala (MET Ball) features its usual mix of upward and downward fashion trends. Held on May 7, some of the biggest music and entertainment stars attended the exclusive event and dressed in their so-called best. Each year becomes a big press event for the dresses worn by the biggest stars, as most paparazzi want to know the designer’s name and credentials with hopes of obtaining further media coverage. Some of these looks are photo-worthy, and some are unfortunately not. For a ball that’s held in NYC and centered on costume and fashion, every year I find it hard for some designers to stand by their strangest looks. Check out the looks (and my ratings) below:
