Jay-Z’s been creating quite the hype behind his score debut of the classic novel ‘The Great Gatsby’. The original story, which takes place in 1922, has been regarded as a #literaryclassic in the realm of American novels. With the success of a novel as great as ‘Gatsby’, there’s no surprise that an equally impressive soundtrack would soon follow suit. Jay’s been working on scoring the soundtrack for roughly two years now, and the tracklisting showcases his efforts to bring real artistry to a great read. While every song on the soundtrack seems like a bonafide hit, it’s Beyonce’, Lana, Del Rey, and Florence + the Machine’s contributions that have created the most buzz. For Beyonce’, covering Amy Winehouse’s Grammy-winning classic “Back To Black” is a very risky move, but I’m sure she’ll do it great justice. Check out the official ‘Gatsby’ trailer featuring songs from the three artists as well as the tracklisting below.
