[NEWS] Katy Perry and John Mayer Headliners For Post-Grammy Beatles Celebration

katyjohnbeatlesThe Queen of Pop Katy Perry may have been let down at the 56th annual Grammy awards, but her headlining spot during the Beatles tribute will definitely make up for it. The event, entitled ‘The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles’ features a huge list of A-list musicians personally asked by the Recording Academy of America to perform. The event will air in a two-hour special exclusively for CBS on February 9, which also doubles as the 50th anniversary of the band’s debut on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’ in 1964. Although the performance lineup is quite impressive, it’s clear that Perry has the biggest challenge on her hands with the widely known classic “Yesterday”. With over 2,000 different versions of “Yesterday”, it’s unsure how Katy’s redux will compare with legendary covers by Liberace, En Vogue, and Carrie Underwood, but at least I know she’ll put on a great show. Check out the full list of performers – and the Beatles song they’ll be singing – below:

Katy Perry – “Yesterday”
John Mayer and Keith Urban – “Don’t Let Me Down”
Stevie Wonder – “We Can Work It Out”
John Legend and Alicia Keys – “Let It Be”
Ed Sheeran – “In My Life”
Maroon 5 – “All My Loving” and “Ticket To Ride”
Pharrell Williams and Brad Paisley – “Here Comes The Sun”
Imagine Dragons – “Revolution”
The Eurythmics – “Fool On The Hill”
Dave Grohl (of the Foo Fighters) – “Hey Bulldog”
