Philly native and R&B songstress Donn T has been around on the independent circuit for years, and has just begun to break into mainstream grounds. Most notably known for being Roots frontman Questlove’s sister as well as singing with Amy Winehouse, her first album ‘Kaleidoscopic’ is an eclectic mix of London electronica, 70s New York funk, and African soul. The result here is “Kisses”, a smooth melody about various ways to show affection. The neosoul authenticity that also originated in Philly is evident in Donn T’s overall performance, and comes as an independent breath of fresh air to the R&B scene.
