This is most definitely not your typical R&B song. From the first verse, Frank Ocean discusses some heavy political issues. Ocean speaks out against homophobia, abortions, an also gave his opinion on the “pro choice” debate. Most importantly, Frank Ocean declares that “I believe that marriage isn’t between a man and woman, but between love and love”. I felt that this was a very moving song. Ocean’s lyrics and vocals on this track leave you vulnerable amongst all the cynicism, and yet somehow the singer also manages to leave you with a glimmer of hope that someday things will change for the better.
