Rita Ora (commonly known as the Princess of Roc Nation) has everything it takes to be an international superstar – piercing beauty, killer vocals, and a mean bob. Months before the stateside release of her debut album ‘ORA’, the video for the Sia-penned “Radioactive” hit the ‘net – and I’m having mixed reviews. “Radioactive” (the song) has #numberone written all over it, but unfortunately “Radioactive” (the video) falls short. The clip, directed by James Larese, is literally as cheap as they come. I think very highly of the song, but this is one of those rare instances in which the video doesn’t match the song’s potential. Rita should be using the stadium-like chorus to show her other talents (i.e.: dancing) but instead decides to stomp and pose as if the viewer will feel her efforts…through their computer screen. “Radioactive” is a one-in-a-million type of track, one that makes Ora unique amongst a sea of EDM-followers, but its accompanying clip sadly falls flat on every front. Instead of copying Katy Perry’s “E.T.” video for the European market, Ora should re-shoot the “Radioactive” clip so American listeners can develop some sort of faith for her Riri-shadowing career.
