The long-awaited A$AP Rocky-Florence Welch duet has finally arrive – and it’s pretty fucking massive. “I Come Apart” features Welch and Rocky trading sung verses in a slight duet format, effortlessly riding the dark “Machine”-esque beat. Rocky also raps on “Apart”, but its his surprising vocals that really make the song stand out. It could be easily assumed that Florence’s vocals do two things for A$AP Rocky’s career here. First, it provides exposure to a new audience for both artists. Secondly, it gives Rocky’s debut album ‘LongLiveA$AP’ that one overly commercial song included on every rapper’s album – except this one’s Grammy-worthy. Florence also delivers a bridge like no other as her signature #yodelvocal delivers a haunting high note around mid-way through. I was skeptical about how their duet would sound at first, but after only one listen I’m sold that this could be one of the best rap-alternative duets I’ve ever heard.
