All of the latest media news may have been surrounded with singers and their shortcomings, but I’m much more excited about the latest casting on the sixth season of ‘True Blood’. Jurnee Smollett, probably my favorite young Black actress of this century, joins the Bon Temps cast in a starring role as Nicole. Smollett is mainly known for her roles on the TV series ‘Friday Night Lights’ and ‘Full House’, but my favorite acting performance of hers is from the Golden Globe-nominated film ‘The Great Debaters’. The full scoop on Jurnee’s character is unknown because Nicole is not featured in the Sookie Stackhouse novels, but appearing in all ten episodes of the upcoming sixth season means she’ll have a huge impact on our favorite fangers. ‘True Blood’ season six starts on June 9, 2013 (source).
