[VIDEO] Frank Ocean x ‘Lost’

Although I’m not too big on Frank Ocean and his LGBT-inspired rise to fame, I can’t deny his songwriting perfection. As one of my favorite cuts from his debut album ‘channel ORANGE’, “Lost” is the latest from the set to receive an official video treatment. The video is mainly shot with two different screens – concert/candid footage and his own cryptic messages. Ocean travels around the world as he croons the prophetic chorus “now you’re lost, lost in the heat of it all”. The song, which samples audio from the classic film ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ and features lyrics about a cocaine-troubled girlfriend, is definitely portrayed beautifully in its video treatment. As with most of his videos, “Lost” is a very artistic affair with its candid shots of his travels over the last six months. Frank starts the video off in beautiful Los Angeles and makes his way to the most scenic parts of the world’s favorite leisure spots, all while capturing the artistic essence of each major city. His Odd Future crew makes cameos in the international footage and they all seem like enjoying the #goodlife is a huge part of their daily activities. The best scenes are the ones in Paris and Dubai, as he visits the Eiffel Tower and Burj Al Arab landmarks, respectively. Frank’s visuals never disappoint, and “Lost” is no exception given the greatness of the song itself. Watch Ocean’s “Lost” clip below.
