The forever-reigning Queen of Pop Katy Perry now has an equally royal fragrance to match her standing in music. Perry has teamed up with international beauty product distributor Coty, Inc. to produce her third fragrance entitled ‘Killer Queen’. The advertisement features Katy in royal attire with a scythe that holds the pointed perfume bottle. In the official advertisement for the perfume, Katy dishes her queen lifestyle for an edgier, rock star look. Katy playfully rips off the bottom half of the dress, along with the regal white wig and gaudy jewelry, to reveal a sexier look of reinvention. Grabbing her scythe, Katy kicks down the throne and sits on it, claiming that she has now “owned the throne”. The commercial is very similar to her career now, as she’s surpassed every female artist to reveal her strong, highly successful artistry. Much like her predecessor Beyonce’s hit line of fragrances ‘Pulse’ and ‘Heat’, Perry’s ‘Purr’ and ‘Meow’ exceeded initial expectations, becoming the best-selling fragrance for a record nine weeks upon its release.
