The best girl band out right now Haim has taken their act overseas to the #makeitorbreakitstage – the BBC Live Lounge UK. On the Live Lounge, artists from all across the world come and choose a current song out to create their own rendition. Strangely enough, the band chooses Miley’s extremely difficult “Wrecking Ball”. Este takes the lead and provides a rock-folk interpretation of “Ball” and allows her sisters Danielle and Alana to take background instrumental duties. The full performance (audio and video) is extremely commendable for a performance that is done live and without any prior rehearsals. I think it’s also very cute how the clip shows Este prepping by gargling water, giving people unfamilar to the trio a glimpse of their happy-go-lucky nature that shines in all of their songs. Reviews of Haim’s BBC Live Lounge UK performance has been mixed, but I think Este’s giving off a small Dixie Chicks vibe with her raspy solo vocal.
