The reigning Empress of Pop Madonna has finally done something that won’t have her in the media for controversial reasons. Serving as the official second single to the ‘Rebel Heart’ project is “Ghosttown”, an eerie pop ballad with a larger-than-life melody. “When it all falls, when it all falls down/ we’ll be two souls in a ghost town” sings Madonna over the dark arrangement which plagues Madge’s vocals alongside organ instrumentation. “Ghosttown” has a bit of a post-apocalyptic nature to its songwriting, which ties perfectly with the song’s clip of the same theme. As Madonna sings about being the last two in a town, she finds herself dancing in a smoking alley alongside Terence Howard. The #legwork from 4:26-4:38 proves that they’re both talented dances despite respective criticisms. While the video matches quite well with “Ghosttown” the song, it doesn’t really match the song’s true potential as seen live at the iHeart Radio Music Awards.
