As one of TUA’s favorite rappers, the Harlem-bred A$AP Rocky can’t do any wrong. On his sophomore album ‘At. Long. Last. A$AP’, Rocky teams up with M.I.A., Future, and Joe Fox to produce one of the most intriguing rap collaborations of all time. On “Fine Whine”, the four trade vocals and verses over a beat helmed by indie producer S.I.K, which Rocky found by typing in “A$AP Rocky type beat” in a late-night Google search. The song has some chopped-and-screwed elements alongside an interesting analogy with wine and beauty. Known for his high fashion lyrics, A$AP tackles his questionable ability to date as he raps “I know I’m a scum bag and now your heart broke / the night is still young for you to sleep and whine” on the song’s refrain. EDM starlet M.I.A. retorts with her own perspective as she asserts “tell your new girl she can suck a dick” to Rocky’s potential suitors. While Future adds a signature #drunkvocal, Joe Fox’s contributions are minimal – as he mainly adds to Rocky’s choruses – but it ties the song together perfectly. Pairing these four talents together has become a highlight on A$AP’s second album similar to his all-star, Grammy nominated “Fuckin’ Problems” from his debut set.
