Known as the former band member of Grammy-nominated group Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty’s second album ‘I Love You, Honeybear’ became 2015’s masterpiece. The album takes a concept format to describe moments involving meeting his wife Emma. While the music is naturally folk due to association, Father John’s ability to describe his most intimate memories with his wife is the best example of #beautifulsongwriting that you could ever ask for. Songs like “Chateau Lobby #4 (In C For Two Virgins)” and “I Went To The Store One Day” paint vivid pictures of the beginning of their relationship, while “The Ideal Husband” and “True Affection” showcase Father John’s progression with eventually making Emma his wife. There aren’t many songwriters like Father John Misty, and he truly sets himself apart from other songwriters on ‘I Love You, Honeybear’.
